Yes, Erik i agree...CSR being a subset of GSR seems more accurate. While CSR, to my mind, seem it is motivated by interest in growing profits by improving perception- it may be of a more superficial nature. For example, starting and supporting a recycling program but continuing other destructive behaviors like using slave labor.The fact that slavery exist almost everywhere but is not legal anywhere speaks volumes about this hypothetical example. CSR in contrast to GSR is related to issues of brand consistency, even in cases where one company owns multiple brands. Contradictions and mixed messages are social capital detractors and do not produce or sustain strong brands.

In fact, these kind of fortified brands become charismatic brands. At this level the social capital is such that there is no substitute for your brand and competition becomes irrelevant.

 

This stands in contrast to businesses or organizations with little social capital who compete on primarily on price, especially true during economic turbulence or perceived down turns.

 

GSR amplifies more energy to achieve more significant impact than CSR alone? This is a question to be explored.

 

In the same way that Protest Art has been a part of that revelation process, Cultural Fusion stands as its opposite.

So it would seem that Protest Art and Cultural Fusion are bilocalities.

 

 

 

GSR to me feels that it speaks to a deeper more internalized understanding of the principles that define it where. In contrast to a facade of good PR the mission in GSR is a genuine transformation that results in a level of "brand consistency" that i've not seen with proponents of CSR. That is not to say they don't exist but simply that i am not aware of them.I would like to see an increased awareness and attention to GSR as the new standard for "good business" aka CSR and better living. 

 

Japanese version of the Global Social Responsibility (GSR) scale. It was found that the following constituted a construct of global social responsibility.

 

  • “global altruism,”
  • “active involvement with society,”
  • “understanding of interdependence”
