Dearest Reader,
I have lamented over the last few months about when was the right time to share this with you. In light of the update to Installation:Art and Installation I feel inclined to share this now. And since I do trust in my process which has never failed me, even when it has taken me on tearful detours, I always ended up where I intended from the start- a place of greater understanding, so sharing is what I shall do.
What do I want to share? In the simplest terms it is the start of a business love story with in the context of a body of Art:Work here referred to as an Art:Series.
I have geographical love story waiting to be shared, but since that one has been preceded by heartbreak I have to work up to it. Those of you who know me, may recall that story about the time I proposed and New Mexico broke my heart :-)
The sting has subsided and yet....Honestly, I am still open to a reconcilliation of a romance that has yet to blossom. Unlike "that other state" at least my love affair with New Mexico didn't end badly, it just ended before it began. Perhaps you know what I mean or maybe you don't, but I will update on those later.
The Start: Eureka!!
I have discovered the difference between falling in Spinoza:love with a person and falling in Source:Love with a business!!
Has the world changed or just the way I am seeing it?
Do you remember what it is to fall passionately in love?
And do you know how the falling compares with the being, to evolve into Source:Being_In_Love?
Well, I have known both and having BEEN IN LOVE with my husband for 19 years, I feel I know a little something about this.
That has informed me about Spinoza:love with a person, but what about a Business?
Some of you may recall that some time around the end of last year I realized I was looking for a brand to fall in love with and like trying to find a man to fall in love with, hungrily looking is the surest way not to find it.
Given that my creations and understanding feed me, I stopped looking and focused on creating and deepening my understanding of value and its relationship to the other ideas I was exploring in this series. Over time it became quite clear I wasn't looking for any business brand to fall head over heals in love with, I wanted the RIGHT Business BRAND(s) to find me and win me over.
All of this had led me to clarify how I or anyone interested in playing matchmaker might recognize "the right one" (for a given Art:Project) once encountered. Little did I know that this was the sprinkling of "magic dust" that carried my order to the universe, straight to my table. But, I will tell you about that later.
You see, I had reached the place in my life where I was ready to share my passion for creating art with a Business Brand that inspires.
One that is worthy of my loyalty. I want to celebrate telling my friends and family about how great my Business Brand mate is.
You know- a brand that already understood or was ready to embrace the reality of cultivating meaningful connections...seeing that genuine social capital is worth it. A brand leader with charisma it was ready for more than a CSR flirtation, this was a brand ready to make a real difference with its position, Business:Resources and vision. Such a brand is ready to practically eliminate competition from its business model, because there are no substitutes for what is delivered.
The Right one is a brand that lives up to the honor of being welcomed into this experience and being included as a prominent partner in this creative undertaking.
I knew the Right One for me, had learned how valuable love is (SoulFood:Ingredient), and that it is no small thing to be truly loved (Source:Love).
This is a brand that respects what I contribute and regularly expresses appreciation (Spinoza:gladness) for the Source:Love and creativity I have to share. Better yet, my Right Business Brand mate has always expressed appreication in ways that are meaningful to me.
The relationship has been strengthened by our mutual awareness of the Ingredients (in our own Context) we bring into play, each one valued. Respect enhanced by the positive attributes and resources possessed by each, has blossomed.
You know when it's real and there is no faking it. I can feel the difference. I will settle for nothing less than the real thing because I know what I offer is genuine. I know its value is really beyond price, so no matter what you pay to play, you get an unbeatable deal.
I know that underneath it all we are only humans creating, and that means that my Brand mate has a past. While the past shapes the present, this is about from this moment foward.
Now mind you, I wasn't expecting it when it happened.
I had started to wonder how it could happen for me...and then I looked at the post-it note that greeted me every day next to my desk. It read simply:
It is possible. This is possible for me :-)
I believed, but....
How did it happen?
I felt myself engaged by the ,Right Business Brand mate - the brand that inspired my business love story even before we met. My life changed when Right Business Brand mate proposed to be my Project:Sponsor, but it was transformed when I realized the value of what I brought to the deal.
Yes, of course everyone knew the right Brand name mattered, the Business:Deal mattered, but it was more than that....
